Winter is coming and it is time to really think about getting all those base layers out and stacked one on the other. I have been checking out one of our often featured brands, Craft, and also Rohan, which I haven’t used for running before but which, of course, are very well established in the hiking and outdoors market.
Craft Fuseknit Comfort base layer
Features
- Both male and female specific versions
- Soft and stretchy jersey with seamless Fuseknit design
- Innovative Fuseknit technology, which combines seamlessly knit parts with ergonomic and strategic seams to create soft and supple garments.
- Flatlock seams
- Bodymapped with different structures for optimal thermoregulationn
- Seamless Fuseknit design for optimal comfort
- Recycled polyester mix
- 67% Polyester 31% Polyamide 2% Elastane
- Weight – 186g (on my scales)
- RRP: £30
Straight out of the packet, this is a solid-feeling, nice and stretchy top.
Conclusion
Once again Craft scores on its value for quality and its solid performance.
The cons for me were that the material was not as soft against the skin as similar base layers I have tried and I would really have liked some thumb loops.

I haven’t tried out Rohan for running until recently but I knew of them for hiking and for having a name for good quality. I liked the look of this top from the off as the design is simple but attractive.
Conclusion
The stand out feature of this top for me is that it wicks brilliantly and I am a very sweaty person.
It also looks really nice and the fabric is super soft.
It comes in at a decent price too. It is really one for the warmer days or as a base layer under something else if you are going to be going out in cold weather.
