Following the 2017 next Trail World Championships, to be held in Badia Prataglia in Tuscany (Italy) this coming June, the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU), in association with the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) has already announced the location and dates for the 2018 edition of the Trail World Championships.
Open only to runners selected by their national federation or IAU members for which they each have their own selection process, candidates will be making their way to Castellón, on the Spanish Mediterranean coastline for the weekend of the 10-13 May 2018.
Hosted by Penyagolosa Trails HG, part of the international Ultra-Trail World Tour circuit and the Spain Ultra Cup, the 2018 edition will also be the 20th anniversary of this event which includes two distances both of which are UTMB qualifying races:
MiM: 63km, 3045m of positive elevation and 15h cut-off.
CSP: 115km, 5439m of positive elevation and 28h cut-off.
