Join the international teams taking part in the 2nd edition Pyrenees Stage Run – PSR

Last updated: 19-Jul-18

The Pyrenees Stage Run will take place from the 3rd to the 9th of September 2017, 240km from Ribes de Freser to Salardú in the Spanish Pyrenees. Like the Transalpine-Run in the Alps, this is a team race, so participants must register in teams of 2 or 3 runners for safety reasons, but also to savour the thrill of competing as a team and sharing this great scenic mountain experience with a partner or colleague.

About the PSR route

Crossing five Natural Parks in seven days, the 240km route mainly follows the GR11 path, with a 15,000m of positive elevation.

The route includes some of the best sections of the Pyrenees like the Valley of Madriu-Perafita-Claror, the only place declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the country of Andorra where the PSR stays for two nights.

Qualifying points for UTMB

The race has been rated with 5 points by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA); so those of you who make it to the finish line of the 2017 edition can use these points to participate in the UTMB.

Flexible registration options

The organization will leave nothing to chance so participants only have to worry about running and enjoying the landscape. A race like the PSR goes beyond the competition itself, and this is why all three options of registration include not only participation (which includes all services and luggage transport from one stage to another), but also the pasta-party dinner every night.

Runners can get to know other participants each evening, talk about the stage and their new adventures. The organisers will also give the brief for the next day’s stage along with photos and video of the previous one.

The race offers  three registration options:

  1. BASIC (630€ per runner), without accommodation,
  2. ADVENTURE (750€ per runner), where runners sleep in tents at campsites
  3. PREMIUM (950€ per runner) with hotel accommodation.

Family and Friends Package

In addition, the organization also offers a Family & Friends package in any of the three options to support the runners during the route and make the experience even more complete.

For those of you travelling from abroad

Getting to the start line from Barcelona is very easy. There’s a direct train that will take you to Ribes de Freser. At the end of the race, a bus will take the runners back to Barcelona.

After an excellent first edition, teams from Austria, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands and Canada have already registered for this panoramic mountain running experience.
