The Everest Trail Race is over for 2016. The remaining participants of the 54 who set off on November 10th of this year’s multi-stage edition crossed the finish line yesterday for the last time at Lukla, after running 29.5 kilometres from the village of Tyamboche in the Khumbu region of Nepal.
The winners of stage six were Pasang Lama Sherpa (Nepal) who ran in 3h 20min and Andreja Sterle Podobnik (Slovenia) who was the fastest woman at 4h 49min. This winning duo repeated their mountain trail running feat in stages three, four and five, making them the clear overall winners at 22h 4min and 30h 53min respectively.
This breath-taking trail running race stage, high up on the foot of Mt. Everest is divided into six running stages totalling 159.8 km of high altitude running.
