The organisers of this Austrian mountain ultra have confirmed that world-class ultra runner Gediminas Grinius, the 2015 winner of the Transgrancanaria (Spain) and the Ultra Trail Mount Fuji (Japan), will run in the second edition of the Grossglockner Ultra in Austria, to be held at the end of July (22-24th July 2016).
Centred along the trails surrounding the highest mountain in Austria, the Grossglockner (3798m), the route is 110km long and has a total altitude climb of 6500 metres.
The Lithuanian ultra runner, currently third in the Ultra-Trail World Tour men’s ranking for 2016 has run many races across the world this year, some part of the UTWT, such as the Vibram Hong Kong 100 (3rd place), the Transgrancanaria 2016 (2nd place), the Marathon des Sables, the Madeira Island Ultra Trail and the Ultra-Trail Australia.
