Dr Irene Kavanagh (MSc Psychology) at the Department of Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University (UK) is looking to recruit amateur female ultra runners to complete a brief and anonymous online survey as part of her research project: ‘A quantitative exploration of mental toughness and positive well being in female ultra runners’.
Studies have shown that a strong relationship exists between mental toughness and positive well being. Your participation will go towards increasing understanding of the motivations and goals of female ultra marathon runners and also the psychological benefits of this unique sport.
Please read the Participant Information Sheet before giving your consent to participate in the survey. The research is subject to ethical guidelines outlined by the British Psychological Society. If you have any queries please contact Dr Kavanagh [email protected] or her research supervisor (Dr Nick Davis, [email protected], tel. +44 (0) 161 247 2000).
A summary of the findings of this research will be available in September 2016.
