American, Adam Kimble, 29, is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for fastest run across America. It stands at 46 days, 8 hours and 36 minutes. It was set in 1980 by Frank Giannino Jnr.
The route is 3, 030 miles long and starts at Huntington Beach, California, finishing in Times Square. According to the Guinness rules, you can take any route you like as long as it equals or surpasses 2,766 miles. He will be setting off in February and is aiming to finish in 45 days.
Kimble (aka The Bearded Sole) is a relative newcomer to ultra running and is taking on a challenge which has already proved too much for some of the greats… including Marshall Ulrich and Charlie Engle.
