Dead as a Dodo

Five years after its launch the Dodo Trail Series which is held annually in Mauritius is announcing its retirement from the trail racing scene.

It will be sorely missed by all the participants and sponsors.

The organisers Yan Maroussem, Yannick Doger de Spéville and Dominique Doger de Spéville said,” It has been a difficult decision for us to stop, but due to our personal and professional commitments it is the wisest one. We wish to thank you warmly for five years of wonderful adventure and sharing of emotions on the courses of the Dodo Fun Run, Mini Dodo, Ti Dodo and Xtreme Dodo Trails.”

The longest of the races – 50km with a hefty ascent of 3500m was gaining prominence. The routes for all the races were stunning.

RunUltra wishes the organisers all the best in their next adventures and who knows, maybe one day the Dodo will become a Phoenix and rise again……
