Jingle bells, jingle bells… etc. Yep, it may only be September, but we at RunUltra want to get in ahead of time to get you thinking about the XNRG Santa Virtual Ultra Challenge. Last year was the inaugural event and this year, just like Bing Crosby, it is back.
Because we know that motivation can dip during the deep midwinter when frosty winds make moan, we want to keep you running in December. All you have to do is enter and then run or walk where you live, whether that is the little town of Bethlehem or further afield. It’s a Christmas miracle.
Giddy up, giddy up, giddy up, let’s go!
3 Challenges in 1
You don’t need to be the fastest or fittest to take part in this challenge – just get out there and do the miles:
- Challenge 1: Run or walk a minimum of 50km on a single day anytime during the challenge period.
- Challenge 2: Run or walk as many miles as you can in a single day during the challenge period.
- Challenge 3: Run or walk as many miles as you can in the challenge period.
Everyone who enters and completes at least a 50km distance in a single day will be sent a Santa Virtual Ultra Challenge special medal and buff. Not only that but there are some fantastic prizes under the Christmas tree for the extra speedy reindeer, I mean runners.
The rules
- Enter the event on-line – HERE.
- Set up Strava on your phone, you can also connect your Garmin, Suunto, or Fitbit watch. Follow the instructions in your entry on how to connect with our automated results page.
- Start running on trail or road outdoors (sorry treadmills do not count).
- After each run, your results on Strava will automatically be uploaded into the results page.
- Complete at least one minimum qualifying distance of 50km in one day.
- Your mileage will be recorded in the event online results during the challenge period so you can track your progress against other challenge entrants.
- At the end of the period you will be sent your challenge medal, T-shirt and prize if you have won.
So, sign up now, and you too can follow yonder star over field and fountain, moor and mountain.
I don’t want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don’t care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want a strava time
That is totally sublime…..
(See what I did there? Ed)
