This is the second video in our exclusive series of interviews with ultra runner Joe Grant.
For anyone who’s visited Colorado they’ll know it has some pretty high, snowy mountains. But can you imagine setting off on your own self powered ultra adventure on your bike with a bit of kit to run up every mountain above 14,000 feet?
That’s exactly what Joe Grant decided to do on July 26th 2016. He managed to finish his ascent of the 57 mountains in record time of 31 days, 8 hours and 33 minutes.
RunUltra caught up with Joe at the Kendal Mountain Festival (UK) to ask him about his Rocky Mountain 14ers ultra adventure. Since then Joe came third in the famous and punishing 2017 Hardrock 100 ultra event in the States.
This is the second video in the series to explore how Joe dealt with sleep deprivation and about his nutrition and diet during his 31 day ultra adventure. This video explores some of the training he did, his coping strategies during sleep deprivation, and how he kept on course and completed this incredible mountain challenge.
